A monument to the nation of Polish culture, a tiny piece of modern Krakow, where the greatest works of culture and art from the entire thousand years of this place’s history are gathered. In Krakow’s Old Town we have 331 historic tenement houses and 2 instant works of art. Krakow is, above all, Wawel – the former seat of Polish kings. Beautifully preserved fragments of the city walls from the 14th century, the Jewish district of Kazimierz, with historic synagogues and a cemetery, and the annual Shalom on Szeroka Street song festival. UNESCO also appreciated the Jagiellonian University from 1364, defended by King Casimir the Great as the second one in Europe, the Gothic St. Mary’s Church with the altar of Veit Stoss, as well as the Gothic cathedral where the kings of Poland are buried.

Krakow also the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow with the most modern branch in Europe in the basement of the market square, the Cloth Hall, Błonia, Floriańska Street with Jan Matejko’s house, the Barbican I am an artist, Planty and the Kościuszko Mound and the world’s innovative Krakow flower shops and the most delicious bagels.

the Old Town to the exclusive area of the Royal Capital City of Krakow. Its center is the Main Market Square, the second important point to the rock on the Vistula River called Wawel Hill. The main monuments of Krakow’s Old Town are located on the Market Square: St. Mary’s Church, the Cloth Hall and the Town Hall Tower. The Old Town is surrounded by a green belt of Planty, which was built on the site of a former moat.

With the restrictions of the 10th century, Krakow was incorporated into the state of the Polish Piast dynasty, and in 1000 the sending bishopric would soon transfer the capital of Poland to Krakow. Within the electric walls there are many Gothic devices, however, the Renaissance era was the dominant period of flowering of the areas that now figure in the most valuable heritage of humanity. The Renaissance Sigismund chapel has just been added to the Wawel Cathedral (the main body of the Cathedral is Gothic, from the 14th century). In addition to the Baroque period, a number of simple devices and works of art were left despite the two service invasions. First Polish 18th century. Thanks to this outstanding work, by architects of such stature as Kacper Bażanka and Franciszek Placidi. Some Gothic churches are being rebuilt in the spirit of Baroque, and ten styles are often remaining.

functionality and originality, but in our opinion, the list of places you must see in Krakow starts with the Old Town. This oldest and most famous part of the city, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978 – already in the first entry! There is something going on in the tourist center of Krakow almost 24 hours a day, although at any time of the day and year we have several different dynamics.

The Old Town, noisy and crowded during the holiday season, when life occurs in the restaurants and cafes in the gardens of the Main Square and the streets leading from it, quiets down with the arrival of winter and the growing number of ancient Krakow cellars dating back to the times of Jan Długosz and Wit Stoss.

It was with walks around the Market Square that we started discovering the attractions of Krakow, and we also offer access to this place, where we reach the city of Krakow. And there is a lot to discover… And you run away, especially Warsaw residents, because in Krakow the Old Town is only the Old Town;)
